The president and founder of Faulring Mechanical Devices, Inc. is
Frank W. Faulring.
A lifelong "tinkerer" and master craftsman, Frank’s life passion has always been to create useful devices for home, work, and play. His expert skills include machining, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and electrical—just to name a few.
Frank’s career in the industry started as a youth, when he learned the art of craftsmanship from his auto mechanic father—in addition to his time as a carpenter and bricklayer’s assistant. While in high school, Frank pursued college entrance courses as well as a vocational education in the trades. This combination of study and hands-on application has proven to be the biggest asset for Frank today.
Frank took his first major job at a railroad service company, where he leveraged his “always-think-outside-the-box” mentality to design and develop heavy equipment that catered to the company’s unique needs. Shortly thereafter, Frank contracted with a short line agricultural equipment manufacturer to develop specialized equipment for the agricultural and LP Gas industries. Always adept at the art of multi-tasking, Frank delivered on his contractual agreements while simultaneously developing product lines of some of his innovations. Additionally, Frank prides himself on keeping up with new technology, software and industry trends; he does this by attending seminars and other venues, participating in occasional classroom courses, and reading countless books and trade journals, among other literature. This speaks to not only his passion for the industry, but also his insatiable desire to continue learning.
Frank's ability to create digital concepts, his skill to construct prototypes and prove the feasibility of his designs is uncanny; many of his projects have thus been reviewed by peers, and have been recognized locally and internationally for their significance.
